Building classrooms in TanzaniaBuild • Participate •AchieveIt is an undeniable fact that we live in a world heavily laden with inequalities within nations and inequalities between nations. That’s why there is the need for an overhaul of Tanzania’s educational system. Education must have all the necessary ingredients for making every Tanzanian a worthy citizen, enabled to contribute to and profit from the development of the country. This can only be possible if more secondary schools are built to absorb left out students and major innovations in the syllabuses, methodologies and learning, and the use of new technologies. What these reveal is that education remains a source of hope as a human right, whose achievement will make contribution to other rights and human development, for which the ability to live together is an unavoidable condition. Tanga Region had 4640 students who passed Standard Seven examinations but did not join Form One in Secondary Schools due to lack of Classrooms. Some 103 Wards out of 162 wards in the region, amongst them Kiomoni have no Secondary Schools. The Government has directed all stakeholders to take immediate steps and increase streams or build new secondary schools to give children from region an opportunity to get secondary education. Government Directive issued had directed each ward to build and have a Secondary School by 2005. Kiomoni Communities need your support in building the Secondary School.
